Pilates teacher Association joins forces with European colleagues

Working together Setting standards

Pilates is one of the fastest growing fitness trends in the USA. We are now experiencing a similar development in Europe. However the term "pilates" is not legally protected.

As a result there is absolutely no guarantee that someone who calls himself a pilates instructor has completed a comprehensive pilates training programme. Only qualified trainers are able to professionally teach and select the right pilates exercises, and therefore achieve excellent training results and avoid injuries.

This is particularly important because pilates involves training with special equipment, which incorporates a spring mechanism, requiring expertise and experienced handling by a well trained instructor. To protect the interests of consumers and customers, the pilates trainers in Germany, France, Austria, Switzerland and the United Kingdom have therefore joined together to form regional pilates associations.
